Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. (Matthew 19:14)

Hello Friends and Family,
Today marks 5 years since our little baby Emily was called to Home to be with our Heavenly Father. The fact that today is also Mother's Day does not make things any easier either. It in fact makes it most upsetting, and Diane is doing a great job of mourning our loss while keeping it together for MaryGrace who deserves to have her Mommy on this day.
The day started out with pancakes and fresh fruit, and there was a good bit of activity to keep our mind occupied. We stopped by the church as today's altar flowers were in memory of Emily, and picked them up after services were over. We were in no shape to face the throngs of well wishers that would have been at the service today, and just opted to go in quietly after most of the crowd had subsided.
Later, we made those flowers into little mini-arrangements that we would take to Emily's cemetary site. We all signed a balloon that MaryGrace released into the heavens, and we sat at the cemetary and remembered. It's amazing how much you can remember about everything that surrounded that awful day 5 years ago. How the birds outside Emily's bedroom window seemed to chirp exceptionally loud, squirrels seemed more active, butterflies more prevalent, even down to the angle of the sun that morning. It began to cloud up as we sat at the cemetary, and the impending rain cut our visit short, but we did what we came to do.
Once back home, we released a new batch of butterlies and hoped some would stay and make this their home. We had gone to the nursery earlier in the day to get some specific "Butterfly Friendly" plants that would provide them nutrition and again, hopefully make them stay.
At the end of the day a very subdued Mother's Day celebration took place and we continue to miss our baby as yet another holiday comes and goes without her. The tough part is that the whole basis behind this holiday, is half gone and I don't know if Mother's Day will ever be what it is supposed to be.
Your gift will help millions of people stay connected with friends and loved ones during challenging times.
